Pasture is paramount
At Herb Majesty our core principle is that all our animals are properly free range and pasture grazed. And not just any old pasture but a pasture that is rich in flora and untreated.
We use aged meadows that haven't been seeded with a mono-culture grass and so boast an abundance of plants that provide vitamins and minerals, aid digestion, purify blood and support the immune systems of the animals that graze them.
Given opportunity animals will self medicate. By providing herbal leys to graze and introducing beneficial plants in hedging our reliance on chemical intervention is greatly reduced.
We are not a commercial enterprise and so do not suffer the pressures of intensive farming. We prefer a holistic approach to land management and animal health and work in harmony with nature and the seasons.
As a nation we have maybe lost touch with the reality of how long it takes to grow a Sunday roast. But hope that a little wait will help us all to appreciate what we put on our plate and how long it takes Mother Nature to make it taste so good.
